INON S-2000 Micro Strobe - For Compacts and
D-SLR Cameras

OceanOpticsInonS2000MicroStrobeINON have developed a miniature underwater strobe that combines three crucial features - high power, wide angle coverage and TTL automation. The INON S-2000 has a guide number of 20 metres@100ISO, providing plenty of power for long range shooting. Wide angle coverage of 105 degrees, without use of a power reducing diffuser, means the S-2000 covers many popular wide angle lenses with ease, including the Inon UWL105AD and UWL100 series with no reduction in range. TTL exposure makes this strobe simple to use for perfect exposures every time as the S-2000 is controlled by your compact or D - SLR cameras own built in light meter. Inon's extremely rugged and time proven fibre optic cables link the S 2000 to many compact camera systems and an increasing number of D -SLR housings that carry fibre optic connections. If your SLR housing does not have fibre optic connections, such as Subal, you can use an Inon adapter to connect your S -2000 via a fibre optic cable to a Nikonos type socket.

The Inon S -2000 is feature packed. TTL is a great help if you want correctly exposed flash pictures with minimum fuss. Don't confuse it with "auto" guns - they are not the same thing. INON S-2000 works with the highly developed on board metering system your camera has. TTL is fast to use, requires no real experience to operate and is ideal if you are getting started with your first strobe. TTL is very accurate and likely to provide an acceptable exposure under most situations. However all cameras metering programs get confused occasionally. So the INON S- 2000's TTL can also be user programmed to under or overexpose for difficult subjects that fool the camera. An example is shots of divers, where faces are often over exposed and bleached out by the cameras own metering errors. Dialling in a slight underexposure on your S-2000 prevents this, yet still provides the convenience of fast automatically exposed flash photography even if the subjects moves rapidly towards or away from you. If you are an experienced underwater photographer, or once you become more comfortable with taking more control of your equipment, you can choose from 12 manual power settings. Arranged in half stop increments, these let you select the precise output you want for full creative control. This can give you more subtle lighting effects.

The INON S-2000 also has a built in ultra sensitive slave. This allows you to use it as a second strobe. When the main strobe fires, the S -2000 fires with it without using cables. So it can be freely swapped between cameras, handed to another diver to aim or hidden in scenery. Even when slaved, the S -2000 can still be used on TTL, matching the exact output of the main strobe. You retain the option to use TTL compensation to create an exposure differential, and, of course, you can set the power manually if you so choose.

Even on full power, recycling time with good batteries is under two seconds. And the INON S-2000 delivers this outstanding performanceusing just four disposable or rechargeable AA cells. Expect over 400 flashes on full power from a set of alkaline cells.

The compact dimensions make this an easy strobe to travel with, minimises drag and help with lighting subjects in hard to reach places.

'My new Inon S-2000 strobe- wow! It covers the angle of my fisheye lens with smooth even light and still manages to soften down the levels for gentle macro lighting. I don't need to go above 100 ISO. Mypercentage of useable photos per dive has just quadrupled.'
