Adding INON Lenses to Your Underwater
Stills or Video System

Adding INON lenses to your underwater digital stills or video system will make an impressive difference to the range of subjects you can successfully shoot. INON lenses are superbly designed for maximum sharpness and contrast and manufactured to exceptionally high standards. It's no secret INON are perfectionists. That's why professional underwater photography coach and founder of Oceanvisions, Maria Munn and Gerald Rambert, Diver Magazine photographer and Visions in the Sea presenter use and recommend INON lenses and strobes.

INON UFL165 Fisheye - Take Your Compact Digital Photography Into Another RealmINONUFL165AD

The INON UFL1656AD fisheye lens allows incredible images to be taken. Fisheye lenses have always been essential tools for the professional underwater photographer. Sweeping reef vistas, evocative studies of shipwrecks and the majesty of great whales are the striking images that demand this lens. Previously the cost of these lenses and the camera systems that could accept them excluded keen amateurs from access to this kind of photography. The INON UFL165AD changes all of that.

Most wide angle lenses have a field of view of around 100 degrees. The INON UFL165AD covers 165, taking in a hugely expansive viewpoint. Subjects simply to large to shoot with conventional wide angles are easily taken with fisheye lenses. This makes fisheye lenses essential for wreck photography, where shooting impressive bows on shots of ships like the Thistlegorm or shooting in confined areas such as engine rooms isn't really possible with normal wide angles which see little over half the area of the INON UFL165AD. They are also ideally suited to working in low visibility, such as around the Uk coastline, when working with divers for example, because you can work from only half a metre away or so and photograph a diver full length. This is around half the distance you need to be with normal wide angles and the result is a much sharper image because you are shooting through less dirt.

The INON UFL165AD is so close focusing it can actually photograph subjects on the dome port itself. This makes it an excellent choice for creative image making when you want to play with perspective to add impact to your images. This incredible lens is sharp to the edges and offers breathtaking depth of field. Naturally it can be installed and removed from the INON AD adapter on your camera with just a quarter turn for your convenience.

INON UWL105AD - The Affordable and Compact Wide AngleINONUWL105AD

The Inon UWL105AD is a remarkably compact and razor sharp wide angle lens for use with housings using the Inon AD lens mount, including many own label and Ikelite cases. Offering around 105 degrees field of view, the INON 105AD is a great choice for shooting large subjects, working in low visibility and close focus wide angle photography.

The INON UWL105AD will let you shoot closer to large subjects, such as divers and mantas, providing crisper images by reducing the distance you must be from your subject and the amount of dirt you are shooting through. By photographing at near distances, your strobe will be more effective and will deliver stronger colours. You can also use the INON UWL105AD to create perspective shifts for creative photography including close focus, wide angle imagery.

INON UWL100 - The Wide Angle Lens That Gets Wider When You Need It To

INON UWL100M67 and UWL100- 28AD

The INON UWL100 and 100-28AD wide angle lenses use glass elements to provide crisp images that will delight you and your audience. As standard they provide around a 100 degree field of view and focus almost down to the front lens element. These lenses let you shoot large subjects, like divers and mantas, from short distances helping you get sharper images by reducing the amount of water you must shoot through, and brighter colours when using underwater strobes which have a limited range. These lenses are also a good choice for low visibility photography. The UWL100 lenses also let you create forced perspective or close focus wide angle images, giving you lots of creative opportunities.

A unique benefit of the Inon UWL100 lenses is that they can accept an add on dome port. This lets you expand the normal field of view from 100 degrees to about 130. This extra angle can be invaluable for photographing some subjects. It's a really well thought out and innovation from Inon.

INON UWL100 M67 Screw Mount

This lens screws into housings equipped with an M67mm filter thread including many Mangrove, Ikelite and some larger Olympus housings. We do not recommend this lens be used with Olympus PT020 and 27 housings because of the weak mount on the Olympus port. If you do choose to use this lens with these housings, you will need to zoom in slightly to prevent vignetting. This lens can be used with threaded colour correction filters, such as the UR Pro range.

INON UWL100-28AD

This lens fits the INON 28AD bayonet mount. This makes it suitable for many own label digital compact housings using the dedicated 28 AD Inon adapter. Using the 28AD adapter makes installing or removing this lens underwater very straightforward. A quarter turn is all that's needed.

INON UWL100 - 28AD Lens Hood

This optional accessory helps prevent flare and adds a high level of protection for the front element of your UWL100 - 28 lens.

INON UWL100 Dome Port

For those photographers needing a wider field of view than the INON UWL100 lenses provide by themselves, this optical lens is the answer. Like competitive lenses, the UWL100 is flat fronted. The angle of view of 100 degrees is the angle of the lens when under water. On land the angle is around 130 degrees. This optional dome port retains the land angle when you submerge,, effectively making your UWL100 some 30 degrees wider. The dome port allows you to extend the capabilities of your existing UWL100. The port is optically matched to the UWL100 and multi coated to maximise image quality

INON UWL100 - 28AD Dome Adapter

This spacer is required to mount the UWL100 dome to the UWL100 28AD type lens.

INON UCL 165 and 330 Close Up Lenses. Small Subjects Shot Large. For Screw Fit Stills and Video Housings

INON close up lenses feature two coated glass elements as you'd find on top of the line land close up lenses. This assures your extreme close ups will have lots of fine detail in them. The bodies are aluminium for durability and anodised to prevent corrosion.

The UCL330 will put your subject in focus at around 20cm and the 165 at about half this distance. For really small subjects you can stack lenses using any combination to shoot higher magnification ratios.

The INON UCL165 and UCL330 lenses are equipped with M67 filter mounts to fit larger Olympus housings , Mangrove and many Ikelite stills and video housings directly.

INON UCL165AD Close Up Lens

This is INON's bayonet mount close up lens. Two element lens design maximises sharpness for the finest quality. Focuses at around 10cm. Can be stacked for even higher magnification of tiny subjects. Removed and replaced near instantly with a quarter turn.

INON UCL165AD Adapter for AD - 28 Lens Mount

Simple and inexpensive adapter connects UCL165AD close up lens to Inon's AD - 28 bayonet mount.

INON Bayonet Lens Adapters

Inon offer a choice of lens adapters to allow the attachment of close up, wide angle and, with some models, fisheye lenses, to many popular digital camera housings offered by the camera manufacturer. Ikelite, supplied in the Uk by Cameras Underwater, also offer housings that have a built in bayonets lens mount to accept Inon lenses.

The Inon bayonet mount is available in two versions. The AD and AD- 28. Both feature a two claw mount with a positive click stop to confirm the lens is securely mounted. The Inon AD and AD - 28 mounts slip over the lens port of your housing and then attach to the base of your housing using the tripod socket. This two point attachment helps keep everything safe. The mount also provides a connection point for the fibre optic cable used to trigger Inon digital strobes.

The standard AD mount accepts the UCL165AD close up lens, 105AD wide angle lens and UFL165AD fisheye lens.

The Ad-28 mount accepts the UCL165AD close up lens using an inexpensive adapter, and the UWL100 - AD28 wide angle lens.

Accessories

A useful range of accessories can help make your underwater photography easier, more convenient and more productive.

INON Lens Holders - Safely Store Your Valuable Lenses Until Needed

To help you safely carry and store Inon lenses you are not using during your dive, Inon provide a lens holder that fits onto an Inon strobe arm. Three models are available.

INON M67 Single Lens Holder

This accepts a single lens with an M67 thread, such as the Inon UWL100 or the UCL165 or 330 close up lenses.

M67 Double Lens Holder

This holder lets you keep two M67 threaded lenses securely mounted to your Inon strobe arm. Accepts the UWL100, UCL165 and UCL330 lenses.

AD Double Lens Holder

Attaches either one or two AD or AD -28 lenses to your strobe arm. Accepts the Inon UFL165, UWL100 -28AD, UWL105AD and UCL165AD lenses.

Lens Protection

Your lenses are investments and need to be protected from damage that could ruin your photographic dives. A few solutions worth considering are explained here.

Lens Pouches

Inon soft storage pouches are available for your inon fisheye, wide angle and close up lenses. They are made from double lined neoprene, stitched and closed with a simple draw string.

UWL100 Dome Cover

An essential slip on cover for your Inon UWL100 dome port. Soft double lined neoprene with elasticised opening for a secure fit.

Front and Rear Lens Caps

Spare and replacement front and rear lens caps for your Inon M67 and bayonet mount lenses. A wise investment is to stock up on these before you lose your first ones - it is inevitable you will lose them....
